The Accredited Investment Fiduciary Analyst Designation (AIFA) signifies the ability to perform fiduciary assessments measuring how well investment fiduciaries are fulfilling their duties to a defined standard of care. The Designation is the culmination of passing multiple securities examinations, years of financial work experience in addition to successful completion of the Accredited Investment Fiduciary Designation. Then an additional 30 plus hours of per-certification requirements followed by an intensive three-day training program, which includes a comprehensive closed-book examination under the supervision of a proctor, an agreement to abide by the Code of Ethics. On an ongoing basis, Designee's are required to complete continuing education to maintain the AIFA Designation. Just to qualify for acceptance into the training, it requires an advisor to obtain the Accredited Investment Fiduciary Designation (AIF), multiple years of financial services experience and additional prior training. As of this writing there are less than 500 people who hold the AIFA Designation nationwide.
